Cracker Cinderella

I just recently discovered one of the hidden tracks on the Cracker album Gentleman's Blues. It's called Cinderella and it features lead vocals by a female guest artist named L.P. She is simply amazing. If you like Patti Smith, Janis Joplin, Lisa Kekaula, and Joan Osborne, you should give her a listen.

I'm kind of on a Bette Midler kick:

I always get a little teary eyed when I hear that song. It makes me think of my two favorite roses: my aunt Rosie and my great grandmother Rose Siciliano. Great Grandma lived to the ripe old age of 101. Aunt Rosie was not as fortunate. She was killed by a stoned teenage driver only three months after our cousin Joe was murdered in the World Trade Center.

Finding feeds

As per our assignment, I've been looking at different tools for finding news feeds. I had the most success with Topix. The other search engines such as Feedster and Technorati just made my head hurt.

It's not really library related, but so far my favorite feed is VH1's Today in Music. I found out that on the day I was born, Big Brother & the Holding Company signed a contract with Mainstream Records in return for airfare back to San Francisco.
