Hallelujah, K.D. Lang

Last night I stayed up late to watch the opening ceremony of the Vancouver Olympics. The laser light shows, costumes, and circus aerialists were pretty impressive, but my favorite moment was when vocalist K.D. Lang sang Hallelujah. The Vancouver Sun reported that Lang "reminded the world that she is one of the best in the business, with a stirring, spiritual rendition of Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah' that literally hushed the crowd."

It's so refreshing to find a female vocalist who doesn't have to dress like a stripper to get attention. I didn't come across any good videos of the performance, but you can check out the song on her album company's website: nonesuch.com.
