Grown-up chick lit

Weiner, Jennifer. Then Came You: A Novel. New York: Atria Books, 2011. Print.

This page-turner by the author of Good in Bed and In Her Shoes is the best grown-up novel I've read in ages. Here's what the critics had to say:

“Compelling...a page-turner. Enjoy this title for its humor mixed with a sympathetic portrayal of real women’s lives and challenges.” —Library Journal

"Weiner's ability to mix humor, drama and the simplicity of real life makes her newest novel her best to date. The characters are relatable and universal, and readers will remember them long after the last page. With writing that flows like a conversation between best friends - effortless but meaningful - Then Came You is the perfect summer read." —
The Houston Chronicle

“The conflicts enmeshing all these characters...are gripping, and Weiner’s elucidation of socio-economic determinism is as sharp as ever.” —Kirkus

Deep Dish

Deep Dish is part southern chick lit, part foodie fiction, and part romantic comedy. If you liked Jennifer Weiner's In Her Shoes, you will probably like this book, too.

Andrews, Mary Kay. Deep Dish. New York: Harper, 2009.

Jennifer Weiner's latest book

I just finished reading Jennifer Weiner's latest book, Certain Girls. Very enjoyable. It's the sequel to her bestseller, Good in Bed.

I think I like Jennifer Weiner's blog even more than I like her books, if that's possible. Her latest post is about the reality show, Rock of Love. I'm embarrassed to admit that I'm a big fan of the show, too. And I don't even like Poison.
