It has been a wonderfully busy week at the library. On Friday, the 21st Annual Broward County Public Library Conference on Children's Literature was held on our campus. As always, the event was a smashing success. This year's theme was "Poetry: On the Wings of Words/Palabras para Volar." Special guests included Jean Marzollo, Jorge Argueta, Jack Prelutsky, and Bill Harley. Poets Ray Dominguez and Diego Mosquera received a standing ovation for their spoken word concert.

Today was the grand opening of our library's new Genealogy Collection. Two of my favorite storytellers, Melinda Munger and Sista Idya, performed for the children. After the presentation, a couple of little storytellers got up on stage and acted out their own family stories. Very spontaneous and very cute.

Tomorrow is our annual Día de los Niños/Día de los Libros Family Fiesta. I need to rest up now, but I'll give you a full report mañana.
