As always, the American Library Association Midwinter Meeting was a huge success. One of the highlights of the convention was the 2009 Youth Media Awards Press Conference. (Visit ala.org for a complete list of this year's winners.)
I am especially pleased that Lucía González's The Storyteller's Candle/La velita de los cuentos was named a Pura Belpré Author Honor Book. This gorgeous picture book is a wonderful tribute to Pura Belpré and children's librarians everywhere.
