This Friday I'm headed to Philadelphia for the American Library Association Midwinter Meeting. It's going to be a great conference, and I'm really looking forward to visiting Philadelphia. (Of course, I am going to miss my husband and dogs terribly.)
Guess what? My mom will be attending, too! Since retiring from her job as a school principal, she has been busy working with the Guilford Fund for Education. One of the organization's goals is to partner with school district and community groups to foster excellence in instruction and build a lifelong passion for learning. I guess you could say that we are almost in the same business.
I can't believe how lucky I am to be blessed with such a smart and wonderful mother. She's my hero.
