More Springsteen connections
In 2005, the band U2 was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Bruce Springsteen was the presenter.
Back in 1983, my friends and I got to meet the lead singer of U2, Bono. All we had to do was sneak into the garage of the New Haven Coliseum after a show. (I think we got away with it because we were just kids.) We talked with artists Marshall Crenshaw and the Alarm who opened the show. And then . . . Bono strolled in! We were totally starstruck. I just shook Bono's hand, stared at him, and said,"Gloria is my favorite song EVER."
